Monthly workshops intended for adult beginners hosted in the beautiful greenhouse at Primitiv Plants. Each session lasts for about 3 hours and focuses on the manual printing process, covering notions of repetitive design and linocut. Participants will learn to use linocut tools - chisels, cutters, and rollers - to print a pattern based on a unique illustration, repeated multiple times on a paper surface. You can work on an original illustration or choose a print provided from the 'Month of Sundays' portfolio during the course. You will learn about modern blockprint, colors, repetition, rhythm, negative and positive space, and other useful concepts in constructing a 10x10cm repetitive design. At the end of the workshop, participants will take home the printed object along with the linocut block to further develop their series of prints, as well as information about the best available material sources on the market for manual printing. Last but not least, each participant will take home their own linocut kit, a complete set of chisels, linocut block, and ink.
